At Supplies Meet Talent (SMT), our mission is simple — to create and supply the very best consumable products for the scalp micropigmentation & tattoo industry. Founded by two award-winning master SMP artists, Colin Smith and Grant Emerson, SMT was born from years of hands-on experience, passion for the craft, and a shared vision to raise the standard of products available to artists worldwide.
Based in Falkirk, Scotland, Colin Smith is the founder of Evolution Hair Clinic — Scotland’s premier, multi award-winning SMP clinic.
Colin’s journey into SMP began in January 2017 after a negative personal experience with his own treatment. Determined to raise the standards of the industry, he dedicated himself to mastering the craft and pioneering his own techniques and has since become Scotland’s leading figures in SMP.
A true pioneer, Colin has been at the forefront of the industry’s evolution, delivering consistently high-quality, natural results for his clients. Today, he is recognised not only as a master SMP artist, but also as a trainer, educator, and innovator committed to helping others achieve excellence in their work.
Based near Norwich, Norfolk, Grant Emerson founded ScalPerfection in 2019 with a clear mission — to deliver world-class scalp micropigmentation treatments
Grant approaches every client with genuine empathy, understanding, and precision.
Today, he is an award-winning SMP artist, celebrated for his subtle, ultra-natural results. Grant has developed his own techniques for achieving seamless, realistic finishes — techniques that have influenced artists across the UK. Grant is also a respected trainer, specialising in personalised one-to-one training to elevate the next generation of SMP professionals.
Filling the Gaps in the Industry
After years of working with existing SMP supplies, we both recognised a recurring issue — many of the products available simply weren’t designed with artists or clients in mind. We wanted to change that.
So, we set out to create products we wished we’d always had — solutions that enhance both the treatment process and the client experience.
Every SMT product is designed, tested, and refined by working SMP professionals who understand the demands of the job and the standards clients expect.
Our Flagship Products
Our first breakthrough came with DermaShield, a lidocaine-free redness-reducing spray designed for post-treatment photos. It was created to help artists capture clearer, more professional after-result photos while ensuring client comfort. Unlike many alternatives, DermaShield doesn’t sting the scalp, and because it’s completely lidocaine-free, it’s also fully legal and compliant across the EU.
Recognising that every artist has their own preferences, we later launched DermaShield Foam, offering the same powerful formula in a softer, more controlled application.
We’ve also developed an all-natural Scalp Balm, formulated to support skin during and after treatment. It helps hydrate dry areas, protects pigment during the healing phase, and promotes a smooth recovery while forming a natural barrier over the scalp.
And we’re only just getting started — with a full range of new innovations already in development.
